This year is already speeding along fast. It just seems like it is getting faster and faster with more and more to accomplish.
I am so grateful for the calming influence of my wonderful daughters and my wonderful cat Bob. Jenta has shown her strength and determination to succeed and go on. Her recent diagnosis of Myoclonic Epilepsy took the wind of her sails for only a moment and then she just took off. Nothing stops her! She is my hero.
We have enjoyed this wonderful senior year. She is looking forward to the magic of adulthood and going off to college. Her father on the other hand is doing everything he can to make sure she stays young. What an interesting dance they are having. I get excited to see her grow and sad to see her growth and knowing that she is rightfully taking her place in this wonderful world as an adult, ready to make decisions and live the life of her dreams. Or perhaps just dream.
My oldest daughter, Cass, has really grown and applying the Secret of the Law of Attraction. I am very blessed to have two such wonderful young women in my life.

9 Keys to Living an Abundant Life
The 1st Key: Daily Spiritual Practice
Do you believe in some kind of higher power? If this seems like a strange place to begin, you may be wondering what this has to do with our topic. Daily spiritual practice is the foundation everything else builds upon to create an abundant life. Great thinkers, inventors, artists, statesman and philosophers down through the ages have credited their spiritual connection for their success.
In studying many of the wealthiest and most successful enlightened millionaires, I found most start their day with an hour of spiritually oriented reading and meditation. Yes, I said an hour. It seems like a lot of time for busy successful people, but taking this time is what sets the tone for the day and gives them the energy they need for an incredibly busy life. They also tend to go to bed later and get up earlier than the rest of the population.
How different would your life be a year from now if you added 365 more hours of positively spent time to your year? If you normally work a 40-hour week, you’ve just added nine weeks to your year, devoted totally to your personal success. And you thought you didn’t have time for anything else in your life!
Enlightened millionaires are different from other millionaires whose main focus may be just on accumulating money.
Enlightened millionaires have a life purpose that serves others. This purpose is bigger than they are. It takes over the focus of their lives.
Through their service to the world they have become wealthy beyond their wildest dreams. These millionaires work harder than most people I know, when they don’t need to work at all. They are driven by their higher purpose and the message they want to give to the world. It is their song to sing and they feel the need to do it as strongly as the need to breathe.
They freely share their knowledge and their money with the world to make it a better place for everyone. These are the people who are truly making a difference in the world. We all owe them a debt of gratitude for their willingness to come forward and lead. They make things happen not just for profit, but because it’s the right thing to do. The energy to take on the work they do comes from the foundation of their daily spiritual practice.
Would you like to be incredibly wealthy, full of energy and purpose, living a life that makes you outrageously happy?
What changes are you willing to make today to create the life of your dreams? If it wasn’t going to take any effort or any changes, you’d be incredibly wealthy and wildly successful now. If you don’t already have everything you want, you have to ask yourself, “How much effort is the life of my dreams worth to me?”
In the years that I’ve been following this practice, I’ve seen a tremendous increase in energy, focus, creativity and abundance. Yes, there are many days I don’t feel like getting up early, but I’ve been doing it long enough that I know the difference in the days I do and the days I don’t, and it’s just not worth the extra time in bed to sacrifice the benefits of the calmness and level of focus it brings. You can start with something as simple as being grateful for the opportunity of another day. I suggest jumping out of bed every morning and saying what a beautiful day it is, filled with love, opportunity and abundance. Some people find yoga and other types of exercise to be meditative as well.
Any type of daily spiritual practice will keep you uplifted while you achieve your successes and grounded in the truth of who you are. The Course in Miracles says "You would never be afraid if you knew who walked beside you." You’re never alone in your pursuits. Creating An Attitude of Gratitude
Gratitude is important in our lives because when we are grateful for what we have, we’ll attract more abundance in our lives. Furthermore, we’ll feel more fulfilled and happy with our lives when we are grateful for what we have.
Meanwhile, someone who is ungrateful will perceive a lack. There will be a void in their lives. To lead a truly rich life, each of us needs a sense of gratitude. You get my point.
One way I’ve discovered to be more grateful and in turn create a more fulfilling life for myself is by “counting my blessings”. Basically, this means that as I begin each day, I mentally go through a list of things I’m grateful for. They range from my relationships to my personality characteristics to my career to my material goods. I just go down the list and go into a state of utter appreciation for each positive thing going on in my life.
As you can see, this is easy to do. And it really works. Having an attitude of gratitude will enrich your life in more ways than you can imagine. Don’t take my word for it, though. Prove it to yourself by taking a week and practicing the technique every day as you get up. As you do this, it will become easier. Another neat benefit you’ll receive is that you’ll find more and more things to be grateful for and your sense of appreciation will increase.
Another method for creating gratitude is to volunteer your time for others. Help those out who are less fortunate than you. It will make you feel good and you’ll get a sense of how much you really do have which you may or may not notice through your day to day life.
On occasion, though not as often as I’d like, I go downtown and find some homeless people standing outside the shelters and offer to buy them a simple fast food dinner. I take a small group of them to the local fast food restaurant and buy them some burgers. When I chat with them, it’s interesting to understand their points of view and get acquainted with them. They get a free meal and I get a sense of gratitude for all I have as well as a feeling that I helped someone else out a little bit.
So the next free moment you get, you might stop and ask yourself what you’re thankful for. It’ll serve you well.
