Understanding of NLP & Hypnosis at HypnosisLady.com
Lets talk a little about NLP & Hypnosis.....
Hypnotherapy - NLP
Hypnotherapy has an almost limitless amount of uses. Since we experience everything we do through our interpretation in our brain/mind, the way we interpret or filter this information can change the way we think and feel and behave. Our Immune function is dramatically affected by our thoughts. In Hypnosis the immune function can be enhanced or suppressed and contribute to healing .
What is Hypnosis? How can I be put to sleep in hypnosis?
Hypnosis is actually not sleep at all. It is simply a relaxed, focused state of concentration. You do it almost every day. Every time you daydream, or visualize an event in the past or future, that's a light state of hypnosis. Everyone can experience a state of hypnosis and new research shows that the results are the same regardless of the depth of trance. Sometimes just closing your eyes and taking a deep breath is enough to put yourself into a receptive state. Hypnotherapy is more complex than hypnosis, in that it looks for core issues of problems, solutions, and answers within your own mind. With Hypnotherapy, your subconscious creates new and more powerful ways to solve problems, overcome fears and limitations, and make lasting changes in your life!
What is NLP?
Neuro Linguistic Programming is a technology that utilizes the language of the brain. Most NLP processes are relatively simple and yet are able to create profound change in the way the brain processes information. NLP is also a great way to make changes in the way we motivate ourselves, create desirable outcomes, and release the past.
A form of NLP that I use in my therapy practice is called TimeLine Therapy. The subconscious mind likes to organize the past and future onto a time line, in a way that allows us to locate past events that are causing problems. The past problems can then be released and reframed to create a strong and resourceful memory. The mind can then place future events along the Time Line that the subconscious can then move towards.
This future time line can be used to project better health, problem solving, stronger leaner body, financial abundance and anything you would like to experience.
NLP is also great for sports excellence by anchoring useful states (such as the ZONE) that can be triggered when you need it. Like on the 18th tee when you are praying it won't go in the lake again. The prayers probably won't help, but your anchors might!
Is Hypnosis Dangerous?
There is nothing that a hypnotist can make you do against your will. You will not violate your morals or values just because you are in a state of trance. If you have a deep desire to dance naked on a table, then under the right circumstances in hypnosis, you MIGHT, but even then the probability would be low. Your subconscious mind is way to wise to allow you to violate your belief system.
Trance is a state of mind that is normal and healthy. Everyone experiences trance many times during the day. Most people who are in hypnosis will say that they don't think that they were hypnotized. This is because it is not nearly as weird of a state as we think it will be. Some deep trance states can produce some unusual feelings and visions, but there is always a part of you that knows you are actually right there in the chair, in the office, and safe.
Is Regression safe?
Regression to childhood events is, in my opinion, one of the most effective methods of Hypnotherapy. Ask your subconscious to take you to the cause of the problem and it will take you into a memory or event that created a conflict, negative decision or a negative belief about yourself. These decisions and beliefs determine our behavior and reactions to our present circumstances. When we find and release the cause, the new attitude or decision can take place, and VIOLA', you are free to change your mind. Memories get mixed up some times in our brain's storage system. Some memories are remembered with the details a little skewed. However, this does not mean that the emotions behind the memories are not valid. In regression therapy, finding the trapped emotion is the goal. Just because the details are a little off, does not invalidate the emotional reality that is the cause of the problem. So, we release the emotional block and transform the memory into a memory that now operates on the positive lessons and learnings that were present. Your adult self can go back into that memory and help the child (your inner child) to have a new wisdom about the original event.
